Technical Services Librarian
Boulder
Rae Ciciora is the Technical Services Librarian for Boulder Valley School District (BVSD) in Colorado. She started her career by volunteering in her children's school and was soon brought on as a paraeducator there, assisting in the classroom and the library. Falling in love with the library job, in 2011 Rae earned her Masters in School Library Programs from the University of Colorado, Denver, entirely online. She taught part-time in a school library for a year and learned she is not suited to teaching, but she loved her concurrent, part-time cataloging gig at the district. Over the last 9 years, the scope of the cataloging job has grown, and her title changed to accommodate the growth. Rae supports 48 teacher librarians with the library management system, the catalog, digital resources, professional learning opportunities, and, of course, other duties as assigned. When she isn't working or reading, Rae enjoys time with her family and dogs, gardening, and has recently begun competing in powerlifting.
