We invite you to join us for the second annual Google in Education Rocky Mountain Summit to be held at Monarch High School in the Boulder Valley School District on August 13 & 14, 2013. This high intensity two day event focuses on deploying, integrating, and using Google Apps for Education (and other Google Tools) to promote student learning in K-12 and higher education.

The program features Google Certified Teachers, Google Apps for Education Certified Trainers, practicing administrators, solution providers, Google engineers, and representatives from the Google education teams.

Katie Christie, a Google Certified Teacher, Google Apps Qualified Individual, CUE Lead Learner, and LearnZillion DreamTeam member, currently teaches fifth grade at Runyon Elementary School in Littleton, Colorado. She has been teaching and learning in a 1:1 Linux-based netbook classroom for 4 years. She spent her first 4 years of teaching in Shaker Heights City Schools in Ohio, a district known for its academic excellence and cultural diversity.. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Ohio University in Middle Childhood Education. She continued her education with a Master’s Degree in Education at John Carroll University. Mrs. Christie is a highly qualified teacher and is certified to teach Elementary, Secondary Math, Secondary Science, and Reading, grades K-12. For her district, Katie is a member of ETAC, the Educational Technology Advisory Committee, which serves as an advisory for the Board of Education in Littleton Public Schools. In addition, she is a member of multiple Teacher Leader Cadres, cohorts providing training surrounding the Common Core standards in Mathematics, Language Arts, and 21st Century Skills for teachers across the district. She has also been instrumental in the growth of the Inspired Learning Initiative in Littleton Public Schools, a program that trains and supports teachers across the district in technology integration. In May of 2013, Katie was lucky enough to participate in the Google Teacher Academy in Sydney, Australia. The following June, she became a Lead Learner for the Google Teacher Academy in Chicago, Illinois. Mrs. Christie enjoys sharing her passion for technology in the classroom by consistently presenting at the local level, by periodically presenting at a national level with the EdTech Team.
